Hey Expats! Do you wanna join
the growing group of expat
Hey Expats! Do you wanna join the growing group of expat Podcasters? Join us for this podcast resource dump and you will know exactly what to do get started.
In this resource dump I will:
1. share with you a very basic, cost effective and damn good quality sounding podcast set up
2. share the most useful resources I have found online over my own 2-1/2 years of podcasting. These resources include websites, videos, podcasts on podcasting (yup, that's a thing), live streams, online groups, in person communities, etc etc. Note: These resources are mostly from U.S. Podcasters but the content can easily be applied to any Podcaster globally, albeit with a few adjustments sometimes.
3. share the aspects of podcasting that expats and expats alone must consider
My goal is to give you a big picture view of the decisions you need to make and the tasks you need to do to express whatever it is you are passionate about into the world in a clear, good quality sounding audio experience. We need more expat voices like yours because you offer a unique view on the place you are living in AND the place where you are from.

We will NOT cover any one topic in depth: this is an info and resource dump. After this session you will know:
-the decisions you need to make to get started (including expat specific decisions). We will also spend some time crafting YOUR podcast idea in this intimate albeit digital group space.
-what basic equipment you need to get started
-basic terminology (dynamic and condenser microphone, mixer, podcast host, rss feed, etc)
-what YouTube channels, podcasts and social media accounts to follow to learn more as your podcast progresses
-how to record and do basic edits in Audacity (free audio editing software) via a hands on recording part of the workshop
-where to list your podcast (everywhere but in list form with links)
Podcasting can get expensive if you're not careful so I am including these money saving bonus items in the workshop:
-Info about free months referral bonus to the top podcasting hosts
-Info on free podcast logo creation sites and other FREE software commonly used in podcasting
Who am I?
An expat in various countries since 2003, Podcaster for over two years. I currently produce two podcasts with topics including language, creativity, technology and expat life. Over this time I have made many contacts with Podcasters globally and especially in the U.S. who make a point to help others get started. I enjoy sharing these information and resources with people looking to get started in podcasting.
Recommended Expat Podcasts:
There are many expat voices already in the space but we need YOUR voice too! Topics are not always about expat life but there is a very real expat lens in these projects: (in alphabetical order)
Here is my current list of other expat podcasts. I am adding more as I listen to them and love hearing about more, so send them to me if you know of any not on this list.
