8: Book Culture in Prague, Czech Republic with Mel & Dave from a Strong Sense of Place Podcast2/21/2020 Powered by RedCircle
Do you read about a place before traveling there? Yup, so do we. By we I mean Mel and Dave, two American expats living in Prague, Czech Republic and Creators of the Sense of Place Podcast. Oh, and myself. In a few podcast episodes Mel and Dave have already perfected the art of diving deep into a place via books and the people who love them.
This mini episode is in two parts: 1. their favorite bookstores in Prague and 2. two really heartwarming and romantic book love stories ![]() A special thank you goes out to Summer Rylander, Travel Writer, Repeat Geopats Podcast Guest and most importantly, dear friend. She is the one who turned me onto a Strong Sense of Place Podcast in the first place. Thanks Summer! Summer's website (which will have a companion PODCAST soon!) After listening to their book love stories, wipe the tears from your eyes and check out this amazing post about the book on Brain Pickings, www.brainpickings.org/2019/09/02/i-like-you-stoddard-chwast/
Also, I bought the book today for you know who! Shhhhhhhhhh.-Steph
Instead of over describing their podcast,
it's best that you just listen to their most recent episode. Here you go
This is an accidental mini book episode. I was actually interviewing Mel and Dave for the Global Podcasters show on Geopats when we went down a few book rabbit holes. Instead of deleting these gems like I did pre-NaPodPoMo, I suggested splitting the episode in two and they graciously agreed. What this means for you is that you get more of the Strong Sense of Place folks in March when we focus on their book podcast research process. That episode will be out Friday, March 6th!
